Factores asociados a la adherencia a la vacunación frente a la COVID-19 en adultos jóvenes: revisión sistemática.

FUNDAMENTOS // Los adultos jóvenes pueden tener más probabilidades de propagar la COVID-19, ya que muestran un bajo cumplimiento de las directrices de Salud Pública y son más reacios a vacunarse. El propósito de esta revisión fue disponer de la evidencia más actual en relación con la evaluación sobre la adherencia a la vacunación frente a la COVID-19 en adultos jóvenes.
MÉTODOS // La busqueda bibliográfica se realizó en bases de datos Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), SCOPUS, Scielo, MedLine/PubMed, Cochrane y en el buscador Google Scholar, con lenguaje libre y controlado, utilizando los términos de búsqueda MeSh: “Treatment Adherence and Compliance”, “COVID-19 Vaccines”, “Young Adult”. Se analizaron diez artículos seleccionados. Los artículos fueron seleccionados en función de su relevancia, que estuvieran publicados en revistas académicas revisadas por pares y entre 2021 y 2024.
RESULTADOS // La herramienta principal de estudio representa la adherencia de las vacunas contra la COVID-19. Los temas de discusión más importantes extraídos en los artículos analizados hacen referencia a la preocupación ante los efectos secundarios, la desconfianza, las creencias o el nivel de ingresos bajos.
CONCLUSIONES // Los hallazgos de este estudio indican la necesidad de realizar programas de promoción de vacunación para brindar información accesible, transparente y apropiada para la edad. De este modo, podría ser considerada una herramienta útil para mejorar la adherencia y confianza hacia la vacuna contra la COVID-19.
