Abstract

The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic coexists with the circulation of other respiratory microorganisms, including the Influenza virus (A and B) that causes human influenza, which follows different seasonal patterns depending on geographic location. It is important to detect all the microorganisms that co-infect with SARS-CoV-2, in order to ensure optimal treatment and to be able to know if co-infection causes a worse prognosis, which would have implications for public health, for example, when recommending and designing vaccination campaigns against seasonal flu or pneumococcus.
