Abstract

It is estimated that colorectal cancer is the oncological disease with the highest incidence in Spain due to the increase in life expectancy and changes in the population's lifestyle.

Early detection through disease screening programs allows for more effective treatment and a higher survival rate. Advances have been made in treatment, such as targeted therapies, which focus on specifically attacking cancer cells and preventing their growth. However, there is still much to be done in terms of prevention and treatment of colorectal cancer. More research and more medical advances are required to combat this disease.
