Abstract

On September 25, 2015, 193 countries, including Spain, committed to the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations and their fulfillment by 2030. The second of these goals, zero hunger, has as one of its goals achieve food security and end world hunger.

This study confirms the importance of the phenomenon of food insecurity in Spain and highlights the long way to go to achieve the goal of zero hunger established in the 2030 agenda.

Feeding a Sustainable Future describes an observational study, led by the University of Barcelona, ​​whose objective is to provide scientific evidence on the problem of food insecurity in Spain, specifically in the pre- and post-pandemic period. In addition, it tries to provide evidence on the relationships between food insecurity and other social factors such as the level of income received by households, job insecurity, the aid received by households or the health status of family members.
