At the end of December 2019, a new zoonosis appeared for the first time in the Chinese city of Wuhan, which would end up making its way onto the agendas of all countries in the world. In record time, the causal agent was identified and talk began, within the health field, of a new coronavirus that would be named SARS-CoV-2 by the World Health Organization (WHO) on February 11, 2020, the which causes the disease known as COVID-19.
As new data arrived from China about the epidemic and the Asian country began to implement its drastic containment measures that dominated news headlines and newspaper covers, health authorities in the rest of the world were collecting information and trying to anticipate a proportionate response to the threat of a disease that was definitively declared a pandemic by the WHO on March 11, 2020.
All of us who work at the Spanish Journal of Public Health (RESP) are collaborating in one way or another in the management of this crisis, perhaps in less relevant aspects, but in our opinion very important, such as communication or attention to the citizens who Send us your questions about the pandemic.
