Abstract

Currently, there is an increasing offer of sports activities for pregnant women, such as swimming, yoga, and the Pilates Method (PM), which can be practiced during pregnancy. However, many pregnant women express doubts about the benefits of these activities, concerns that are often raised during prenatal care visits. In this context, it is essential to individualize the guidance provided to each pregnant woman to facilitate the selection of the most appropriate activity. However, this selection must be aligned with the recommendations of scientific societies and adapted to the specific characteristics of each pregnancy. From this perspective, the question arises: is PM really beneficial? To answer this question based on scientific evidence, it is essential to have up-to-date and accurate information, with the goal of offering quality care in clinical practice. The Guidelines and Care Processes provide updated information on physical activity during pregnancy, although it is important to analyze whether they include specific aspects related to PM.
