Abstract

The history of Public Health in Spain has been written mainly in two journals that currently continue to be a reference in its academic and professional development. With disparate trajectories, the Spanish Journal of Public Health (1926) and Gaceta Sanitaria (1888) now begin a policy of cooperation that aims to place Public Health on the country's information agenda.

We began the dialogue for such a company in a meeting held at the National School of Health of the Carlos III Health Institute (Madrid) on November 15, 2019, and while the bureaucracies to which we belong (on the one hand, the Ministry of Health - MS- and, on the other, the Spanish Society of Public Health and Health Administration -SESPAS-) develop a formal agreement, we, the management teams of Revista Española de Salud Pública and Gaceta Sanitaria, want to share with our audiences the perspectives that we envision and open a debate about the usefulness of this collaborative enterprise that we now undertake.
